We are proud to welcome you to Canon Sharples School. The special atmosphere
which exists here is based on the fact that we are a Christ centred school.
The caring, understanding, love and support for each other is present
in all that we do and all that we strive to do. Canon sharples School
was established following the amalgamation of two well established schools
- St John the Baptist, New Springs and St Stephen’s, Whelley.
In 2005 we moved into our brand new, state of the art, building with beautiful
views of Haigh Country Park. We are pleased to offer large and well equipped
classrooms with shared resource areas which allow for an exciting and
stimulating curriculum. We have 12 classrooms, a purpose built nursery,
a large hall, library, ICT suite and a unique ‘street’.
Education is a partnership between home and school and we have wonderful
support from parents, the Church and our local community. We have much
to celebrate and we are delighted to welcome visitors. Our children enjoy
school, achieve well and, as one child told and Ofsted Inspector, when
it comes to the teachers ‘It’s hard to decide which one you like best!’
